Virginia Johnson

I know, I know I forgot Folk Friday again! I'm the worst & I apologize - thesis is kind of taking over my life right now, I'll try to make up for it this week. All this work has made me pretty sleepy, so I'm dreaming over Virginia Johnson's gorgeous sheets & duvet covers, but here are some of her funky pillows. For some reason I'm sort of drawn to the sombrero dudes - even though it's totally not my usual style. Do you have a fave?

Back to Morocco

I spent a few weeks traipsing around Morocco last summer. I've been missing the aesthetic, so I'm kind of loving this website. Brings artisan goods from Morocco crafts people to the web. Visit here for more, but I'm kind of obsessed with these Berber pillows, embroidered sheets, and woven basket:

Celia Birtwell

I'm a big fan of fabrics/textiles. I was quite pleased when I came across Celia Birtwell & her designs. I was surprised to discover that she ran in the same crowd as Ossie Clark -actually, they were more than business collaborators, they were married! {as fans of Child of the Moon read about here. There is also an actual post on Celia Birtwell here}. She designs fabric & wallpaper, in addition to fashion & accessories. She is quite an interesting lady & one of the most influential figures in textile design. Here are a few of my personal favorite fabric designs from her new collections:

{Posh Dot}

{Little Animals Blotch}

{Animal Solo}

{Beasties}

Emily Bond

This fabric designer is from the UK - a noticeable source of inspiration for her prints. Scenes from the English countryside {an aesthetic which I really enjoy} -such as dairying & hunting- are pervasive in her collection, which was founded in 2007. Her linens come from Kircaldy, Scotland. Check out her website for more photos & inspiration on where to purchase.

Below is a selection of some of my personal favorites patterns of hers:

Kevin Dean

Kevin Dean is an artist & textile designer from the UK. Additionally, he illustrates children's books - most notably: Jungles and Rivers & Lakes with Prof. John Norris Wood. He is very into florals, which is perfect because I'm very into florals. His English Roses collection is simply gorgeous! I have gathered a few of my favorites patterns/items below, but I highly recommend spending some time on his website. It's a prime place to garner inspiration!
