To Turban or Not to Turban?

Does anyone have any thoughts on all these turban-esque headpieces that have been popping up all over the place recently - I mostly noticed because of my long love of the Olsen twins? I kind of dig them & at the same time feel like they are tacky/costumey. Also, I know for a fact I could never pull it off. Have you tried it? Does it work? Rachel Zoe seems to be a fan - read her advice here.
